Depict! Research

What I like about this video is the comedy aspect to it and also the fact that it joins realism and fantasy. Also, I thought certain parts of the mise-en-scene were done really well like for example the costumes fit well and made the narrative easier for the spectator to catch on to and where they might be. The editing makes the short flow really well, I especially like the three shot at the end as the guy with the unicorn walks away, it shows the body language and emotion of all three of the characters giving the short a nice ending.

I found this short a little weird because of the type of style the maker used, however i really liked it because of the massive twist at the end. The whole way through the short the camera was kept at the same angle, straight on, I liked this idea because it made the spectator focus on the child, the balloon and the bird more, making the twist bigger at the end. Although I felt the message the video was trying to give didn't fit what happened in the short, I still liked it and found it weirdly funny.

I really enjoyed this film because it took a few different art styles and combined them and I felt this worked really well. I also really liked the message this short gave off, i thought that because one of the glasses doesn't get completely filled up it feels differently emotionally but it finds way to make music, it gives a good idea as to what its like to be different and like to do different things. the art styles are combined with objects looking 3D (such as the guitar) mixed with 2D drawings that are filled in with colourful (what looks like play-doh like substance). The shot types that I felt work really well in something like this is the close up of the half filled glass as it shows the the emotion of the glass really well.
